Project
Challenge

This ground-up elementary school was funded by the B.E.S.T. Grant, a Colorado Department of Education initative to improve local education facilities. During the development process the design team had to closely monitor costs associated with the construction while maintaining functionality of the facility. Under strict deadlines to permit and construct, this project required creative engineering solutions to save on time and budget.

Design
Solution

Brightlighter’s engineers, working closely with the design team, helped prepare a site plan that met jurisdictional requirements and the needs of the school district. Thinking outside the box, our engineers were able to design a dual-purpose athletic field to meet the local drainage requirements and provide a safe environment for outdoor activities. In addition, our engineers collaborated with the landscape architect and equipment manufacturers to design fully accessable playground features around the site. The project received entitlements on time and has opened its doors to students.
