Storm Drainage Design
Managing Stormwater on Your Property
Stormwater drainage and design always requires a professional inspection.
At Brightlighter, we specialize in designing, assessing, and improving the stormwater flow through your property and the surrounding area for new construction projects as well as existing structures.
Strategies to Improve Stormwater Drainage
Our engineer’s have experience with a variety of water drainage techniques like:
- adding a detention pond to hold temporary floodwater and trap sediment
- establishing a retention pond to revitalize the ecosystem
- finding innovative ways to improve water quality
- conducting a flood study to better understand the area
and other effective ways to manage the water flowing through your site.
Our civil engineers conduct a thorough study to create a tailor-made drainage plan perfect for each location.
The Brightlighter Denver Drainage Plan Process
Preliminary Drainage Report
A civil engineering team prepares this report, examining how water flows through the site and its impact on the surrounding watershed. The report identifies potential runoff challenges and outlines a plan to address them.
At this stage, you will also determine if a drainage or flood study is needed to move forward.
Finished Floor Elevation (FFE)
As the project progresses, the focus shifts from water flow to assessing the water quality entering and leaving the site. Establishing a proper Finished Floor Elevation (FFE) is a crucial part of stormwater design.
By calculating the building’s finished floor surface, you can ensure it is level, allowing rainwater to flow away from the building and down a drain.
Phase III Drainage Report
Later in the project you may need to prepare more detailed Phase III Drainage Reports and oversee drainage conformance reviews during construction (we do this for clients too).
With Brightlighter’s skilled civil engineers, you can trust your project’s path. We’ve spent years honing our skills, studying the land, and learning how to manage water in your community effectively.
